"Blog Tease"

I know it's been awhile since I last posted when I start getting requests for a new blog  and am called a "Blog Tease" lol...well, here you are, my first blog of 2011 - year of the wedding! I've been super-busy but I'll back-track to the New Year. I traveled to Tennessee to spend it with Patrick. My visit mainly consumed of cleaning his place and packing up his belongings so he could come back to Pittsburgh...! The visit wasn't all work though. New Years Eve night we had a fabulous dinner at Stony Creek. My love went all out allowing me all the carbs and fats my heart desired :-) It was yummylicious! After dinner we went back to his place and finished a very competitive game of Monopoly we had going on his computer...that's when I started getting the "Happy New Year" texts...I thought we had missed it and rang it in playing a computer game! But in Nashville reality we really were an hour behind all my well wishers in Pittsburgh - haha! We absolutely did ring in 2011 in a proper fashion...

Patrick got back to Pittsburgh on the 4th and we've been crazy busy since! Mostly with trying to unpack all of his stuff and find a place for everything. We've definitely outgrown the space and we aren't even officially living there together yet! We've kept busy though with some home improvements...my dad taught Patrick how to properly hang things (yes, there is more to it then taking a nail and hammer to a wall lol) and we've painted the extra bedroom/office. We also started cleaning the basement which is a HUGE task. I'll share pictures below and also let you know what else we have to do...

Patrick taking down my "girlie" chandelier and putting up the original one that goes better with the decor now.

Our dining room now...love my family tree that my mom bought us when we got engaged!!! :-)

Our living room...coming along nicely but we need to find a TV stand we both like and we need a large picture to put on the long gold wall (cut off). We also want to put a ceiling fan in once spring rolls around.

Love our big clock! It has a regal looking old-world map background that we want to tie into the entire room decor somehow. We both saw it and fell in love!

You can see the green we painted in our extra bedroom/office area. We got this shelf set to help with our space issue and we're loving it! It also serves as PB's "trophy case" until we can make his man cave :-) Check out the game balls on the top...he got those from the Titans for his play on Special Teams!

Fred?! LOL! Patrick has a lot of my Dad's characteristics and here he is using his power saw and safety goggles while cleaning out the basement...

It's so nice to have my fiance back...really, ya'll have no idea! We've been having a lot of fun whether it be cooking together...

This was from a dinner we had for my parents...Fajitas!

...Or playing together...check out the video's of PB flying one of the four (Yes FOUR! We had to find room for FOUR of these things!) airplanes he got from the Titan's Christmas Grab-Bag...If you didn't know, Patrick has his pilots license so I expect him to fly any and every plane safely!!!

Then I dusted my old reporter skills off...

Here you can see the size of this plane...it's massive!!! We had a lot of fun flying it even though it lasted maybe 5 minutes time total lol. Patrick did put this plane back together...oh the power of duct tape!

Aside from all the fun and games it's also nice to have him here for wedding planning...and the plans are coming along nicely! We got our invitations in the mail and they have been stuffed and sent out! What a process! I didn't think I'd ever get done! My aunt did all the caligraphy and they turned out beautifully :-)

I got my wedding earrings :-) They are some beauty's from Swarovski and I love them :-) I also got some other fun wedding day garb but I am having a bit of a shoe issue though. I am completely 100% torn between two pair! They are a beautiful and classic pair of Badgley Mischka's but they aren't comfortable at all and I know I wouldn't last all night in them. The second pair I found are a glitzy-glam pair by Benjamin Adams which are a little but more comfortable but an extra $120...decisions, decisions. I would be able to dye the Ben's and wear them again, which is not the case with the Badgley's.

Other wedding news, I started my boot camp! It's rough...the first week I could only go twice because every muscle in my body ached in pain! The second week I again only went twice, but only because snowy conditions got in my way. This last week I made it there 3 mornings, and again, snow got in the way of my 5! I found that I like going in the AM better then the PM. It sucks to get out of bed so early but it does jump start my day and it's nice to know that I don't HAVE to do any other exercising at night.

My mom and I went to a Bridal Show and I got some good ideas for the big day! My wheels are definitely turning and my creativity is through the roof! I wish I could share with ya'll but I want some things to be surprises so I have to keep mum! But eeek! I'm excited!!

Stay tuned for the next blog :-)
Until then...
